The effect of this in Roda is amusing to watch as some businesses decide to stick to the conventional opening day while the more adventurous take a chance on opening early. One must assume that those coming to Roda for the Easter celebrations, together with people visiting relatives or simply wanting to get away from mainstream tourism, will have realised that April is a month of preparation, and expectations about facilities will not be too high. Having said that, it is, without doubt, one of the best months to visit Corfu and, as more people become aware of this, subject to the support of the airlines our ‘season’ will become even less clear.
However, today is May 1st, and the first of the traditional charter flights will arrive at Corfu’s Kapodistrias Airport. Just about everything in the village is open, the new drainage scheme is complete, for now, and all your old friends are waiting to meet you. See you soon …
